On State Regulation Of Genetically Modified Food Safety

In recent years, genetically modified food has become a vocabulary that is often mentioned, and its social recognition is also increasing. Genetically modified food compared with traditional superiority in solving the food shortage, ensure our food security, promote human health, protect the environment and so on. But the duty to the danger of genetically modified food situation is not very clear and based on the consumer’s security concern, the government need to monitor genetically modified food. In this case, we can see how to monitor the safety of the genetically modified food has become the top priority. In the past of the genetically modified food safety regulation, the government often use political, legal and administrative tools such as formulated the regulation on the management of the genetically modified foods, set up relevant regulatory agencies. However, these regulations and institutions just set up many deficiencies, the current tool clearly is not perfect enough. In this paper by analyzing the government supervision means, applying this theory to the genetically modified foods safety regulation, the government could build the legislation and the social public supervision system, expand the approaches of public participation, and establish and improve the international coordination mechanism and many means to completely build the regulation system of genetically modified food.
