Marx was seeking the freedom of human in his whole life. The pursuit of freedom through all of Marx’s theory, it is the key to understanding Marx. Marx’s concept of freedom has different connotations in different periods. I want to find the reasoning logic and consistency between different concepts of freedom in this article, by reading Marx’s classic books, from Doctoral dissertation to Das Capital.I discuss Marx’s concept of freedom in three parts, they give expression to the germination period, face the social reality, to the mature period. At first, Marx’s freedom was idealism, it equaled to getting rid of the necessity and was the nature of free will with ontological significance. But freedom began to face the social reality when Marx realized a series of questions. Marx studied and criticized Hegel’s Legal Philosophy, freedom was the unified of rights and obligation. But he became aware of the split personality in the national power theory. Then Marx was away from the reliance on Hegel’s philosophy, through the transcendence to the critique of Hegel’s philosophy of law system. Finally through the religion liberation, political liberation and economic liberation leading by the proletariat to binary the opposition of personality, recover the true nature of the human. This idea was mature in the creation of historical materialism. Marx’s freedom concept was also increasingly rich, freedom became a real activity in the pursuit of human nature, this activity is that Marx said "Free labor". Marx was sharply aware of labor alienation in the form of the capitalist production relations, and tried to restore the true nature of the human. Finally, I got this conclusion that the reasoning logical was in following four parts:the subject, the connotation, the method and the status. Marx always pay attention to the human, the liberation of human and practice. It is very meaningful for understanding Marx’s theory in the perspective of freedom.
