| Since 1999 when China stepped into aging society, the population of the elderly has increased every single year, so as the population ratio of them. Under this kind of pressure, the population structure becomes very different from early years. It becomes a serious question for discussion about how to help or protect the elderly in their aged lives. Cities of developed area are exploring new endowment pattern, such as the 9064 pattern of Beijing, and the 9073 pattern of Shanghai City. All these governmental actions are showing how important it is when it comes to old-age care.Otherwise, the options for aged people in developing area are quite limited. Because, at developing area, the conditions in every dimension is not good enough for further developing, no matter it is economical, financial, or political, etc. But are there obvious differences between developed area and developing area of aged people’s choice preference? And if there are such differences, which factors really matter? To solve these problems, I am about to do a survey in Weifang City, based on positivism and the theory of social support system. The purpose of my survey is to find out the choice preference of the elderly, and at the meanwhile, according to the current situation of endowment demand and supply, sum up the main factors.On the basis of the previous research results, the factors concentrated in four aspects. They are self-characteristics, family environment, social environment, and policy environment. Therefore, this research continues this category, in combination with formal and informal social support theories, to keep this study go smoothly.The developing area would meet with bigger obstacles because of the thinner economic base, which may lead to a much weaker endowment service system. Therefore government’s support is full of importance to encourage the endowment system to prosper. Only in that way, can the elderly’s needs be satisfied in a better way. |
