On The Research And Development Of The History Of Sino - Japanese Relations In Mainland China From 1999 To

Since 1999, considerable progress has been made in the research of history of Sino-Japanese relations with fruitful achievements. The conclusive study of Sino-Japanese relations history research in Chinese Mainland is of great academic and practical significance.This article consists of three main parts, including introduction, text and conclusion. In text part, the author classified the research results of history of Sino-Japanese relations in Chinese Mainland into general history works, periodic history works and special subject history works to study with publications as the center.The general history works of Sino-Japanese relations from 1990 to 2015 in Chinese Mainland is few, which can be divided into academic works and universal works. As a whole, the research level of general history works of Sino-Japanese relations in this period improved to some extent, compared with that of last period (1978-1999). At the same time, we should also notice that general history works of this stage existed some deficiencies that quality was irregular and the exploration of Sino-Japanese relations in ancient times was not enough.Different from the situation of few general history works, since 1999, the dynastic history works of Sino-Japanese relations that were published in Chinese Mainland can be said to be endless. Based on the research contents, the author divided these dynastic history works into two categories:research works of Sino-Japanese relations in ancient times and in modern times respectively. Most of these works treated history issue with a dialectical attitude and explored Sino-Japanese relations history of different stages deeply. In term of historiography method application, in addition to attaching importance on traditional historical research methods such as empirical approach and comparative approach continually, the application of interdisciplinary research method also made new breakthrough, meanwhile, the writers paid full attention to the application of history material, valuing the writing pattern of integration of history and theory.The special subject history works of Sino-Japanese relations from 1990 to 2015 in Chinese Mainland is too numerous to count. According to the study content, the author categorized them into six parts:political, economic, diplomatic, cultural, military, reference books and compilation of data and chose the iconic works for detail study with a summary of the characters and deficiencies of subject history works of this period. It was found that the scholars laid more emphasis on the research of Sino-Japanese politics, diplomacy and culture relations and ignored the study of economy and military subjects in the special subject history research of this period, with more communication and cooperation between Sino-Japanese scholars at same time.Based on above research, this paper gave some suggestions on the research of history of Sino-Japanese relations in China mainland from various aspects and expected that the research of history of Sino-Japanese relations in China mainland could achieve more long-term development.
