Medium and thick plates are important industry resources. They are mainly used for machinery, ship building, vessels and containers, boilers and military industries, etc.Medium and thick plates are the most important products of JiGang, the production capacity of JiGang in 2002 will exceed 1. 8 million tons. So it is very urgent to JiGang, whether now or future, to study marketing tactics of medium and thick plates. Through analyzing the basic conditions of JiGang, the outside market environment, the conditions of the adversary in competition and the strengthen & weakness,this thesis puts forward the suitable contents of product tactics, price tactics, place tactics and promotion tactics in order to embrace competitions and opportunities on the steel market, at the same time maintain and enhance the market position of JiGang not only in local market but also in international market, in the end improve its competitiveness. In addition, this thesis also discusses especially the contents of entry into WTO, modern physical distribution, anti-dumping charges and e-business. Facing accelerated process of globalization of world economy and development of knowledged-based economy and internet-based economy, facing entry into WTO, JiGang-a famous medium and thick plates production enterprise, as the other Chinese steel enterprises, must break through restriction of traditional concept and idea, set up and improve innovation machanism, strengthen and improve capability so as to become an enterprise with powerful competitive edge.
