Based on the systematic analyses of sustainable development theories, this paper uses the theories and methodologies of macroeconomy and system of indicators to study the evaluation of sustainable development for the shipping line. It studies the thought and principle of sustainable development, moreover, from China's reality, puts forward the framework for system of integrated environmental and economic accounting in the shipping line. On the basis of discussing the domestic and overseas achievements in the system of indicators for sustainable development, the paper establishes the system of evaluation indicators for sustainable development in the shipping line, which includes the indicators in fields of economy, society, natural resources, environment, population and construction of institution.
