Shandong Province Industrial Competitiveness

The research object of this paper is the competitive power incubation of the industry in Shandong Province. This paper defines the connotation of the industry competition on the base of recalling the research findings on hand briefly. And according to the basic principles of scientificaalness, systemeticness, effectiveness and this paper set up the evaluating indicator system of the region industry competitive power (the fundamental frame of the system contains threefold contents: The actual competitive power, the potential competitive power and the environmental competitive power), then this paper proceeds the empirical research on the existing industries in Shandong Province with the evaluation model of AHP( analytical hierarchy process),and calculates the competitive power exponent of each industry in Shandong Province. Hereby this paper gives a general evaluation on the industry competitive power in Shandong Province, and crystallizes the superior industry and inferior industry in Shandong Province, then probes into the advantages and the disadvantages of the superior industry in Shandong Province for the background of globalization. Finally the author puts forward the countermeasure and proposal on promoting the industry competitive power in Shandong Province.Through the quantized calculation on 37 industries in Shandong Province, this paper analyses that the industries in Shandong Province can be divided in to three groups: the industries in procession of the actual competitive advantage, the industries in procession of the potential competitive power and the industries with out the competitive power. It is observed that the industries of the first group and the second group are the superior industries in Shandong Province. According to the industry groupings analyses, we can make a discovery of a distinguishing characteristic: in Shandong Province, the industries with the actual competitive power are mostly dispersed over the resource-intensive industries, such as the industries of energy source, foodstuff, textile and Etc, they are all the resource-intensive industries, while the industries with the potential competitive advantages are primarily the capital fund and the technology intensive industries, including the industries of electron, pharmacy, mechanism, instrumetation and Etc, they are all the capital Fund and technology intensive industries. Which is to Say, in Shandong Province , the resource intensive, low append cost product are still the main part of the industries. The primary reason is that in Shandong Province the resource of labor force and the natural resources are abundant, so the costs are low, simultaneously compared with the relatively economic advanced provinces, the general level of science and technology in Shandong Province are lower, and the fund of research & development is pinch.Due to the fact that Shandong Province is still in the mid stage of industrialization, the development of industry will be the emphases of the economic construction in a long period in Shandong Province. The industrial development in Shandong should be located on the above-mentioned superior industries, known as the industries which is "inoculated" by the high and new technology and upgraded such as the leading industry like mechanism, electron, petrifaction and Etc, or the traditional industry like energy source, textile, foodstuff, metallurgy and Etc, or the high and new technique industry like electronic message, biological engineering, ocean and Etc. Correspond with the development and grandness of these strategic industry, the famousbrand products including the products of the household appliances, the utility type sedan, the refine chemical industrial products, computer software, halobios pharmacy, industrial revelation ware and Etc should be created gradually, and then improve the structure of theindustrial products.
