The strategic focus of modern industrial enterprise has been transferred to product innovation from production and marketing gradually. The success of product innovation has become a critical factor for the survival and development of the enterprises.I, the writer of this thesis have been in charge of production, technology and outsourcing in DSF and participated in the study of DSF product innovation policy and the implementation of the decisions. This thesis expounds the DSF's product innovation policy in 2001 and is divided into 5 chapters, i.e. Theoretic study of product innovation, Analysis of existing status. Introduction and innovation. Independent innovation and Prediction and suggestion.Chapter I-Theoretic study of product innovation summarizes the general theory of product innovation, especially the theory of innovation policy relevant with DSF product. This chapter executes discussions on the classification of product innovations, which calls the classification based on technology as mode and calls the classification based on market as policy. Its advantages are that it emphasizes more self-ability in technology, which is single-directional, and stresses competition in market, which is bidirectional or multi-directional.Chapter II-Analysis of existing status mainly describes the actual problems existing in the combination of DSF product and product innovation.Chapter III and Chapter IV are essential part in this thesis.Chapter III-Introduction and innovation contributes more efforts in the introduction and innovation policy of new products guided by DSF general strategy. It puts forward detailed introduction policy for DSF based on the analysis of industrial technical standard, market, counterparts, relevant businesses and self-conditions and the actual analysis of available new products.This chapter gives an analysis on the overlapping of household refrigerator and commercial ice chest, which is the appraisal basis for trial in promoting new market through new product.Chapter IV-Independent innovation mainly discusses the improvement and innovation guided by value engineering.The most critical work here is domestication, which brings the enterprises huge profit. Along with the growth of domestication and strength in cost reduction in general terms, the improvement andinnovation of the product design will enhance more effectively the product value. This work is to improve its material, structure and appearance and etc based on the original product.This chapter mentions a concept of integrated supplier, which is contrary to the theory of "outsourcing through multi-comparison.". It is to reduce the outsourcing cost through the growth in volume and achieve the target of double-win and co-existence together with the supplier, which exerts similar effect with outsourcing through price-comparison.Chapter V-Prediction and suggestion mainly explains the common problems existing in the product innovation, predicts on new refrigeration technology and market demand of commercial ice chest, and discusses the future of joint ventures such as DSF and the importance of enhancing innovation ability through mastering of nucleus technology arising hereby.
