C.K.Prahalad and G.Hamel , the American professors of corporate strategy, published a landmark article "The Core Competence of the Corporation "in the May-June 1990-issue of the Harvard Business Review, The authors argue that the corporation needs to identify, cultivate and exploit the core competencies that make growth possible indeed , This article was a landmark in the strategic management field and was probably the most influential published in the 1990s,Core competencies are the collective learning in the organization, especially how to coordinate diverse production skills and integrate multiple streams of technologies. With the emergence of a global community, China is speeding up the opening up and expecting to combine with the fast-moving world , The Chinese enterprises have to face more challenges ?How to compete with the foreign company and survive even win is a tough problem for most native companies , Therefore ,the research of the core competence of the corporation is very necessary and has a high strategic value ,This research paper includes five chapters , The foreword briefly introduce the development of the theory and the main task of the thesis, then appraise the research result of the scholars , As a theoretical basis, chapter one defines the Core Competence; Address the factors that impact to cultivate the core competencies and the strategic significances. According to the definition, chapter two devices an index system to compare china with the developed country, the Newly industrialized countries and areas, and find out the problems that hamper Chinese enterprises from development , Chapter three take Haier and HuaWei in ShenZhen for example to demonstrate that a company how to chose fit model to develop the competitiveness o Chapter four is a very important part, Based on the statement of the former parts, we know that the core competencies is not easy to cultivate, so the company should judge the competitiveness environment, draw the strategic decision, exert the proper measures to build own core competencies.
