Since theory of enterprise core competence was put forward by C. K. Prahalad and Gary Hamel, it has become the hot topic concerned by management field and enterprises. The core competence is distinctive competence, and the source of the long-term, which can bring excessive profits. But the study on the core competence is on the first step in a world. There are many problems should be researched further more. Especially in the nurturing ways and methods of core competence, most research suggestion lack operation and application possibilities, and it is no useful to enterprises' practice. Just like Peter M. Senge established a lot of tools for the practice of learning organization , the writer try to introduce some useful tools for the nurture of core competence.The writer want to research the basic theory frame of the core competence and series tools based on the fruits which have been obtained. The paper has six parts. Firstly, it introduced theoretical trace to the source, conception, characteristics and research status of the theory of core competence. Secondly, it expounded elements and strategic value of core competence. Thirdly, it discussed evaluation and recognition method of core competence. Fourthly, it introduced a series of methods and practical tools for the nurturing of core competence. Fifthly, it explained the management and protection way of core competence. Finally, it researched the case about the nurturing and developmentof core competence in Yunnan BaiYao group Co.Ltd.
