This paper reviewed the definition, function, relevant factors and functional mechanism of management self-efficacy, and analyzed the present research trend on relationship between self-efficacy and performance. 475 middle position managers were selected from 6 national-owned enterprises in Tianjin (425 managers were valid subjects, among them 364 were male and 61 were female). Questionnaire survey was conducted on those subjects in order to explore the factors that will influence leadership self-efficacy, and the importance is put on the relationship between management self-efficacy and performance. The results are as follows:1.The manger management self-efficacy Questionnaire has good reliability and validity.2.On the subscales of management self-efficacy of organizing atmosphere management, employee's activity management and whole scale of management self-efficacy, the level of self-efficacy dramatically ascends with the increase of management position span.3.The levels of male managers' problem-solving self-efficacy are higher than those of females.4.Management self-efficacy is positively correlated with performance.
