Although some companies thought there was no need to practice performance management to financial staff, the author held an opposite opinion. In fact, practicing performance management to financial staff was very important, which was vividly illustrated in this article by studying Hotel A's methods. Hotel A was a very famous international hotel group. In the first part, the article pointed out the necessity of performance management to financial staff and its difference from performance management to other departments. In the second part, the article introduced the background of Hotel A, and its experience of practicing performance management in financial department, including the basic process, the features of performance management, and the techniques to practice it. At the same time, the article gave us a detailed explanation about the notion and rating index of performance management, and then pointed out what HR department should do to give managers performance training. In the third part, the author described the process of Hotel A's performance management by recommending "one center three points" opinions. One center meant communication, three points included 360 appraisal methods, graph appraisal method and objected appraisal method. And then pointed out what the financial department should do to make performance management smoothly continue. Through the analysis, we could say that Hotel A was obviously successful in practicing performance management to financial staff. But there were still some weaknesses, which needed to be improved. In the last part, the author used her interviews to three financial staffs in Hotel A to prove that Hotel A's performance management was very successful. Based on the above analysis, in the end of the article, the author recommended some suggestions, which could be used by local hotels to improve their managements' level.
