A Comprehensive Risk Assessment Study

Risk is a ramification, any existing stuff will bring risks, and enterprises are in the same situation. Any enterprise is living in a floating and levity market circumstance, and as the development of globe economy, there are more and more unexpected indeterminate factors, which can bring enterprises more possibility of loss and more opportunities to gain extra profit. How to identify, assess, analyse and manage these possibility and opportunities is the main content of risk management.This thesis gives an introduction of the significance of risk management, the content of risk management and the process of risk management. It illuminates that risk management is particular important for enterprises to stabilize operation, adapt to market circumstance, improve the rationality of decision-making process, increase the economic benefit and enhance the share-holders' value.This thesis demonstrates the present risk management situations both in Chain and foreign countries by using some statistics. The present risk management includes some standards and application of risk management in enterprises in China and foreign countries.This thesis takes A company as an example, employs risk management theory, identifies and assesses A company's risks comprehensively by questionnaire and interview. During this process, 45 risks were identified, and this thesis analyses all the high level risks' information such as impact, occurrence probability and possible reasons. Therefore the importance of each risk is educed which helps enterprises attach different attention when managing these risks. It is propitious to allocate resources for enterprises and to propitious make decisions for management. In the meantime, based on the risk identification and the risk assessment, this thesis also gives some methods about how to reduce or avoid these risks and suggestions about risk management for next steps.
