China's entry into WTO marks that Chinese foreign trade has entered in a new period. In 2004, China has become the third largest trading country in the world, with a total amount of export and import of 115.47 million USDs; however, the development of Chinese economy requires further development of foreign trade as well as relative foreign trade policy. In recent years, China faces a series of new political and economical circumstances both external and internal, including main trade barriers such as anti-dumping, safeguard measures, special safeguard measures, as well as non-market economy status, new trade barriers such as anti-subsidy, intellectual property right barriers, social accountability, as well as animal welfare, and new trends such as attendance in free trade zones and integration of foreign and domestic trade. With the guide of Strategic Trade Policy, State Competitive Advantage Theory, Totally Sustainable Development Theory of Foreign Trade based on sustainable development idea, and rules for draw-up of Chinese foreign trade policy based on Game Theory, this paper submits the following policy suggestions. They are to reasonably make use of export-oriented policy, to strongly develop domestic demands, to suitably adopt import-substitution policy, and to further improve four strategies of Chinese foreign trade. Finally, this paper forwards several safeguard measures in execution of Chinese foreign trade policy.
