Culture Studies, The Impact Of Erp Implementation

With the increase investment and developing process of informationization in China, more and more enterprises have begun implying ERP system to plan and integrate enterprise resources, in order that they could improve the management ability and competency. ERP software, coming from America, is in behalf of the most advantage management thought and model in the world. However during its implementation in China, it encountered the national culture clash between eastern and western world. The implementation results were not so well. There was one saying 'Foreign ERP software is not fit with Chinese situation'. The fundamental reason is that people have paid little attention to the influence of culture on ERP implementation.This paper analyzes the ERP implementing procedure, in order to find out the proofs of exist influence, and to find what and how influences the implementation. At this basis we found the culture risk preventing system of ERP implementation. The paper also combines the culture theory study in social and management science, and then designs survey questionnaires from the national and organizational culture dimensions. Analyzing the statistics we could find the relationship between cultural dimensions and the successful rate of ERP implementation, and proves those hypotheses. At last the study finds out the point where culture risk takes place, and introduces how the cultural risks take places. The paper stresses the expanded method of ERP implementation with cultural conscious. Combining with the data analysis, it discusses the strategies for ERP implementation in our country, that are based on the culture.
