It Project Network Planning Technology And Its Applications

The level of Project Management (PM) is directly related to the realization of project's objectives. The arrangement of the Project Schedule and allocation of the project staffing play a very important role in the PM. The Network Program Technique, as a core role of modern project management, because it has notable effect on the scientific management, became popular and been applied widely all over the world.With the development of information technology, IT Industry has already become a fast field in the project management application. But there are a large number of projects that postponement and overspend in IT project for many years, one important reason among them is that the whole management level is not high in the PM and lack to the modern PM tools learning thoroughly and using flexibly. Because the Network Program Technique, as a very important planning management tool in the PM, can remarkably shorten project construction period, raise efficiency, reduce fabrication cost, and raise project management level and so on, it plays a very important role in heightening the level of IT project management and solving problems of the project postponement and the resource distribution overspending in IT project management. At present, influenced by the environment of the whole IT Industry and constrained by the present conditions of the IT enterprises, the Network Program Technique of the modern project management is applied less in our country IT project management. So, this thesis, by introducing the main content of technology and researching the application of IT project management mainly, has shown the using value and functional characteristic of the Network Program Technique in IT project management practice.This thesis based on analyzing the IT project management and the current application situations of the Network Program Technique in depth, has studied the application of it in IT project management systematically. At first, it explains the important function of the Network Program Technique used in IT project management. To the characteristic of IT project's heavy random and bad planning, it introduces the main content of the Network Program Technique in IT project management from the Project Schedule, namely the Critical Path Method (CPM) and the Program Evaluation and Review Techniques (PERT). The thesis analyzes especially the range of the applicationand characteristic of the Network Program Technique in IT project management; provides the implementation step of this technology. Finally, by discussing one case of the development software project of producing and selling system in some company, it recommends in detail the concrete using course of the Network Program Technique in the IT project.The remarkable characteristic of this thesis is the effective application of the Network Program Technique in the modern PM of the IT project planning. Especially, it develops and designs the Network Program Technique in the IT project by using the CPM and PERT in the IT project. Based on the comparing with researching and analyzing, to the characteristic of IT project, it offers the concrete implementation steps of the Network Program Technique in the IT project.
