The theory of sovereignty, which derives from the concept of the theory of state in west Europe four centuries ago, has been developed and sparked ongoing "sovereignty debate", against the canvas of globalization and regional integration. Here I think it's more precise and proper to define "sovereignty" as "national sovereignty". Ever since the establishment of Westphalia System, the theory of national sovereignty always exists as the foundation of international order and relation. However, since there have been no authoritative and comprehensive definition of national sovereignty, many debates are raised. Especially as the globalization sweeping across the world, national sovereignty gradually appears to be inconsistent with the rapid development of the society, and therefore the opposing and weakening argument of national sovereignty soar to unprecedented hight. In this article, I try to show the manifestation, significance and position of national sovereignty in the transforming and recomposing progress of the world, in the way of putting this concept into specific historical and regional environment, rather than traditional macroscopical methods.I probe into this issue from the origination of the theory of national sovereignty, try to display and highlight the origin and profile of the development of the concept, by listing typical concept of national sovereignty in history. In the following paragraph, I put forward some typical and significant factors, which have exercised deep influence on national sovereignty, in order to reflect the impact and challenge encountered by modern national sovereignty. The following section is discussing an important node in the globalization — the theory of regional integration, which also giving birth to two typical regional integration organizations: European Union(EU) and Association of South-east Asian Nations(ASEAN).
