Mass Incidents Study

The group incidents result from the growing and sharpening of intricate social contradictions in the current process of reform and development. During the particular stage of social and economic transition, the restructuring has lead to an increase of various contradictions. The rapid growth of the number of the group incidents has become an important factor affecting the current social stability, arousing the attention from various social circles. Some domestic scholars and experts have made beneficial analysis and study on the origin , behavior pattern of and countermeasures for the group incidents. Based on the practical work of the public security organ in preventing and dealing with the group incidents and personal understanding of the nature of the group incidents, this thesis is meant to make an analysis of the causes and conditions leading to the group incidents as well as its trend and impact on the stability of society, and further propose the principles and the countermeasures to be adopted by the public security organs. Finally, with references to the experiences of foreign police in this regard, some suggestions are put forward concerning the necessity of legalization in dealing with the group incidents in China.
