With the ongoing petroleum marketing globalization process,and the increasing interaction among different dimensions of both energy demand and supply,the energy security of any region in the world is highly dependent on the energy situation of the rest of world.In this scenario,the energy security of the East Asia region has huge influence on the United States energy security and development,while the latter as well as the U.S.international policies towards the E.A.region have enormous impacts on the former.Due to the rapid increases of energy consumption of the E.A.region in the last two decades,as well as the complication of international issues related to energy exploitation and transportation within the region,there is a growing demand and dependency of the E.A.countries and organizations on other regions or superpowers in the energy sector.On the other hand,the United States,the world largest energy consumer,as well as the leader of international energy exploring,transporting and trading system,plays important roles in most dimensions of international energy security system.The participation and policies of the U.S.are crucial,to the energy cooperation and development within E.A.region,the establishment and maintenance of E.A.energy security system,as well as the mediation on international energy issues between E.A.countries.The U.S.foreign policies towards the E.A.energy sector are constituted for its national security and economic interests as a part of its international energy strategy,aimed to include E.A.region into the international energy regulating system that dominated by the U.S.,focus on communication, negotiation and cooperation with E.A.countries,and simultaneously avoid to be involved in E.A. internal entanglement as to maintain and maximize the U.S.'s interests in the region.Therefore the U.S.foreign policies towards the E.A.energy sector together acts as a positive force in sense of stabilizing and developing effect,and as a negative force for its competitive,enforcing and restricting impacts.It is advisable for E.A.countries to act in consonance with each other according to the every changing U.S.foreign policies,improve the internal cooperation,and to take the advantage of external assistance to establish an energy security system that is out of other superpower's control, for the impending global energy crisis.
