Relation between nationalities affected national unity, the stability in border areas and social peace, in borderland of Yunnan of inhabiting ethnic minority. So, it was one of being paid attention to, and it was a researching project to some researcher. However, because of the reason as everyone knows, comparing with abundant accomplishment of ancient history of Yunnan ethnic minority, it is not enough to study modern history of Yunnan ethnic minority. It is a very important stage of history of Yunnan ethnic minority especially to early days of China. And it was foundation stone laying period of new relation between nationalities. The article contains 4 parts not including preface. Part one, the situation of Yunnan borderland in early days of nation-building. This part discusses the condition of Yunnan borderland in early days of nation-building and the condition of ethnic minority and relation between of nationalities. On the discussing, the complexity and importance of relation between nationalities of Yunnan borderland is expounded in the part. Part two, by expounding central and Yunnan local correct cognition of Yunnan borderland, issuing and implementing general and special policies and laws of adjusting relation between nationalities, the article discusses the thought and policy of adjusting relation between nationalities of Yunnan borderland. Part three, new relation between nationalities of Yunnan borderland being established, and the characteristics of it.
