The development and utilization of curriculum resources is an important tache of new curriculum reform in China.Red history curriculum resource is of unique type in abundant history curriculum resources,and the development and utilization of it must be different from other types.However, the development and utilization of it at present is somewhat ignored.Therefore,we should specialize,excavate the potential educational value in it and make full use of it in history teaching.This would be very useful and meaningful in setting scientific history curriculum resource outlook and promoting history curriculum reform.To begin with, this paper gave an account of the reasons, purposes, theoretical basis and its present state of topic selection.In the first part,the autor defined red history curriculum resources, followed by characteristics of them,and then divided them into four categories according to different forms of their existence.In the second part,the author analyzed the significance of the development and utilization of red history curriculum resources in five aspects.It is conducive to motivate students to learn history of interest,to change the way of learning, to carry out patriotic education, to strengthen and improve the professional ethics construction of teachers and to the core value system of socialist construction.In the third part,the autor introduced abundant red history curriculum resources in Yimeng area in line with the previous classification method.In the fourth part,the autor analyzed the educational investigation of the present situation of the development and utilization of red history curriculum resources in Yimeng area.The educational investigation was divided into two aspects, one for students'questionnaires of junior middle schools, and the other for individual interviews was carried out at three levels:some history teachers, some history teaching and research staffs of Education Bureau of different districts (counties),and Director of the History Teaching and Research Department of Education and Scientific Research Center of Linyi City. The problems found through individual interviews in the process of the development and utilization of red history curriculum resources, mainly in five aspects.To solve these problems, the author put forward four countermeasures.In the last part,the autor explored the principles and methods on how to develop and utilize red history curriculum resources in Yimeng area.
