Composition Teaching has always been the difficulty which both of educators and students have to face. Teachers feel tired to teach, and students feel difficult to learn. Consequently teachers teach students to memorize doggerels and students write according to certain format. These ways of teaching and thinking seem to be degraded, and are kind of "eight-part essay" flavor. As is well-known that the ability to foster innovation is the soul of a nation's development and the essence of education is largely to make a nation strong. "If the young are intelligent, the country is intelligent; if the young are strong, the country is strong." The prosperity of a country falls on the students, so this responsibility falls on us educators alike. What should we do to make the country prosperous? Naturally this is inseparable from the daily education work. Composition teaching is an important area of education work. Therefore, the cultivation of innovative ability in the teaching of writing is not only the requirements of the curriculum reform, but also the requirements of the times.For this purpose, under the new context of a new round of basic education reform, I, based on the previous studies, make some theoretical thinking and practical research on how to cultivate the innovative ability of primary and secondary students and try to find some effective strategies and ways to improve that through the investigation and reflection on the current situation of the innovative ability of primary and secondary students. Scientific guidance on the writing and the cultivation of innovative abilities is to achieve the teaching purpose of truth-seeking and novelty-seeking. Cultivate the students'innovative ability, seek novel and creative expression and lay a good foundation for the formation of a sound personality.Therefore, this article is divided into three parts, respectively, expound and state from the current situation of the teaching of writing in primary and secondary school as well as the reflections on the current situation, specific practices of cultivating innovative ability, and problems which should be paid attention to in implementation.
