Against the background of the fast developing economic society and the constructing of the harmonious socialist society in China, among college students, the future work force for our development pops up the symptoms of inadequate socialization such as underdevelopment of communicative ability and low self-esteem.Facing the speed-up society transformation and the increasing demand from diversity, the traditional teaching methodology only in Chinese institutes of higher learning cannot fulfill the demand from the society upon the college student of socialization. As the major organizations to foster students'ability for knowledge and social skills, institutes of higher learning are in bad need of more effective ways and skills to promote the socialization and self-development of college students.Cooperative learning was put forward in the 1960s, unanimously acclaimed by the western scholars for its unique effectiveness in fostering students'social skills such as encouraging students for active intercommunication, which further enhances their interpersonal communication and teamwork spirit. Therefore, this article applies cooperative learning to the inadequate socialization of college students in China and tries to employ this teaching strategy in their in-class learning of their specialties in order to prove the feasibility of cooperative learning in the socialization of college students.
