It is surprising and yet worrying to note that in the current language teaching, reading teaching seems to be irrelevant to writing teaching like strangers. Under the test-oriented conditions, hardly can we hope for the good development of both reading and writing ability. Nowadays, reading teaching focuses on enhancing mainly students'ability rather than improving their writing ability.It is encouraging that some dramatic changes have taken place in writing teaching in China. In December 2006, National Office For Education Sciences Planning officially approved the topic "Research on how to improve efficiency of Teaching" as the planned topic of the 11th Five-Year plan, among which is the sub-topic of "Research of efficiency in Schools and strategy of writing method". The topic "Research and experiment on creative writing", which belongs to the key program of the 11th Five-Year for the Chinese language Teaching in Secondary School Professional Commission of CSE, focuses on classrooms. When it comes to inheritance and creativity, there has been a series of heated and wide discussion of the connection between reading and writing that reading teaching should be closely related to writing teaching.Educator Ye ShengTao commented that the more you read, the more fluently you will write. the more you write, the better you will understand it. He also said that text books are only examples.Reading are supposed to be closely connected with writing. Text books, which are the reading materials students share, are both the basis of students'reading and the beginning of cultivating students'writing ability.The value and meaning of the paper lies in the fact that Reading teaching is considered as the key point of improving writing ability. With an eye to reading ability, students develop their writing ability. Students acquire the information, and their interests in writing are aroused.The paper has 5 chapters:Preface and Chapter one The current situation of students'writing ability, Lack of good method of writing teaching, analysis of emphasis on reading and inattention to writing.Chapter two The problem of reading teaching Description of the existing problems of reading teaching, especially the disconnection between reading and writing.Chapter three Reading teaching aimed at writing From scientific approach to writing teaching to researchers and pioneers, making clear the philosophy contents and forms of writing. Chapter Four Seven cases of writing teaching include "Connections between writing and daily life, further reading and writing teaching, reading teaching and exercise of writing thought, comparative reading and writing teaching, reading teaching and practical writing". Allof them are based on the research on cultivation of writing, exercise of writing thought, interest, method of exercise, writing correction.Chapter 5 Summary and Reflection Amplification of exercise of writing in future reading teaching.
