The current employment situation is worrying about college students. Many of them even postgraduate students have turn into drifters or Net as soon as they graduated from universities. Suicide occurred often. The employment problem has caused great concern to society as a whole. It also highlights the problems of training model and structural of the university:A major has been set up without conducting strict professional market research and professional demonstration by only the teachers in this respect, or by simply the leadership of the universities. It results in the majors seriously out of line with market demand; Now university education has been translated from "elite education" into "mass education", but the university curriculum have stayed away from with social needs too much, which is the an important reason that a large number of college students can not be successfully employed.Secondly, the lack of career planning education of the university is the important reasons of unemployables of college students. Neglection of education of career planning, college students have no clear career and life planning. They have many "missing":the lack of understanding of the community, the lack of clear positioning of their own lack of confidence and determination to when facing challenges, lack of ability to adapt to society and also the lack of "courage of accepting failure and frustration " Therefore, the implementation of career education for students is an urgent move. It dates from the beginning of the 20th century in the United States. As a new career guidance model, its background in America is very similar to China situation, so it has significant research value:learning from its successful experiences to promote the employment of our college students, career planning in colleges and universities do a good job of education to guide students to plan their own life, better and faster to develop and improve themselves, realizing their own value of life.The process of drafting, the author has mainly used of the methods of literature, comparative analysis, observation. It has studied the development of the career counseling course of in the United States and the formation of the main theories. It has described the transformation from experienced career counseling to career counseling. It has represented Parsons/factors theory and the Shubuta career development theory. Three cases with detail specific descript the specific content of university career guidance and counseling programs Universities of the United States, and summarize the American College Educational Characteristics of career planning. Reference to American practices, our universities, students, government and social enterprises multi-party must join forces and make concerted efforts. Students must do:change the traditional concept of employment and career planning to do to effectively improve their overall quality and capacity; university specialty needs to comply with the social market, build a sound career education system; government should increase policy support.
