Shandong Province has started college entrance examination reform since 2017.The goal of the reform is to form a college entrance examination enrollment model with classified examination,comprehensive evaluation and multiple enrollment,and improve the college entrance examination enrollment system mechanism that promotes fairness,scientific talent selection and strong supervision.This pilot program implemented the selective examination policy and the professional-oriented voluntary filling mode are closely related to the students’ career.However,at present,the development of career education in most high schools is not sufficient.Students have some misunderstandings about career cognition.The author attempts to investigate and analyze the current situation of senior high school students’ career cognition,explore the main factors that affect their cognitive status,and propose targeted policy recommendations based on the findings of the study.Based on the theory of trait factors,the author uses the methods of literature,questionnaire and interview to carry out research to explore the status and influencing factors of the four dimensions of senior high school students’ career cognition:self-cognition,subject selection cognition,professional cognition and career cognition.The research found that the overall level of cognition is not high,and there are differences between grades and within grades.The specific situation is summarized as follows:students in senior three know more about themselves than students in senior one and senior two,know more about the content of the new college entrance examination subject selection policy,are familiar with some universities and popular majors,and have their own views on future career choices;Students in the same grade also have different perceptions of career planning.Students with good academic performance and high education level of their parents pay more attention to their own development needs and think about professional choice and career development issues;There are differences in students’ cognition of career planning between urban and rural areas.Students living in urban areas can access rich social practice resources and gain more opportunities to learn about careers;Girls pay more attention to professional choice than boys.Senior high school students’ cognition of career planning is affected by subjective and objective factors.Students’ own abilities,personality,values and learning experience,parents’ educational concepts,professional experience and cultural level,school teachers’ strength,career planning curriculum guidance,and education policies of relevant departments,all have a profound impact on senior high school students’ positioning and grasp of college entrance examination policies.In view of the above findings,the author puts forward the following promotion strategies: schools need to strengthen the construction of teachers’ team,establish career mentoring groups,and improve teachers’ professional quality;We need to improve the comprehensive curriculum system and increase the penetration of career education;We need to build classes with career planning as the carrier,and play the role of campus media to transfer career planning knowledge.The government and relevant departments need to speed up the formulation of career education policies and provide financial support for them;We need to integrate network and other media to provide cultural resources for students.Finally,the healthy growth of students cannot be separated from family education.Parents should change their education concepts and cultivate their children’s awareness of career planning.
