Education quality largely depend on teachers. Teachers' development becomes the important world topic. Teachers autonomous development is the new idea of teacher development theory. No matter from the general trend of international teacher development,and the necessary of new curriculum reform, the existing drawbacks of teachers training,all require teachers to develop by themselves,namely teachers' independent development. Based on the above background, the author thinks that research in the teachers' team individual teacher the possibility of autonomous development value and realistic, the main focus of this study is to reveal the importance and probability of independent development, and interview the status, and puts forward suggestions.The author through analysis of the concept of independent and development, get the connotation of teacher autonomous development:teacher autonomous development is a process that make consciousness and demand for power, through learning and self-education to get the knowledge and skill, to can dominate the teaching environment, formulate the plan that can consistent their own, to make progress in teaching and improvement professional structure. From the angel of Lifelong education theory and the reform of the new curriculum, independent development is the necessary to realize the lifelong learning, promote teachers to the new curriculum understanding; From teachers' point of view, the needs of the development of teachers' autonomy and self-actualization requirements makes teachers can in professional career continuous growth and progress. All three parts of the autonomous development reflected a teacher importance. From the level of education teaching practice, primary school teachers have knowledge structure, cognitive styles is continuing its own borders development foundation; The development of the modern information technology and teachers education provide training opportunities for teachers, make the development of primary school teachers is likely done independently.At present, teachers' independent development has been gradually recognized and accepted, The primary school teachers as a special group, on their independent development research systems especially quantitative research also less. This paper design the questionnaire of primary school teachers, survey the 150 teachers in DINGZHOU city's the primary school. Through the analysis on the investigation results, we found that the situation is not very good, the need is very strong, but lack of subjectivity and initiative. The main sources of consciousness from external pressure, rather than Internal factors; Independent development behavior and strategy choice not clear,autonomous learning, introspection, scientific research action does not reach the designated position and lack of initiative. About the aspect of development capabilities, independent monitoring ability is weak, pay not enough attention to the development.There are two reasons:the subjective reason is Elementary school teachers' professional identity, sense of teaching effectiveness is not high is impeding teachers independent development power foundation, objective reasons is the teacher have little time and the environment is not very good.Based on in the analysis of the causes of the investigation of the problems, we put two suggestions.The first is let the teacher have clear target and determine the positive development motives, to make feasible development planning make the reflection an a way of life, let research into teaching.The second is hope schools can give teachers more development platform and opportunity, give Independent development space to teachers and establish proper evaluation, rewards and incentives system.
