The 2017 high school Chinese curriculum standard puts forward the task group of "whole book reading and discussion",and Chinese education increasingly sees the importance of the whole book reading for improving students' Chinese skills and professional character.However,as a new topic,the whole Chinese education lacks necessary experience accumulation for the whole book reading teaching.At present,there is not a complete set of operable whole book reading teaching operation system for reference or implementation,and there is a lack of predictability for the problems and challenges that may exist in the whole book reading teaching process.People's understanding of the whole book reading teaching is still in the primary stage,so it is necessary to explore a set of teaching mode with certain theoretical support and maneuverability.At the same time,task group 5 "literature reading and writing" and task group 11 "study of foreign literary works" proposed that students should study foreign literary masterpieces to cultivate their open cultural mentality.Teaching foreign literary works in the form of reading a whole book is the meaning of the subject matter.The whole book reading teaching of foreign literary works is faced with not only the general problems in the whole book reading teaching,but also many challenges such as translation selection,cross-cultural understanding,text teaching value selection and so on.It can be said that compared with the whole book reading teaching of domestic works,the whole book reading teaching of foreign literary works faces more problems and is more difficult to implement,so it needs more thinking and exploration.As the whole book reading teaching of foreign literary works plays an irreplaceable role in students' understanding of Cultural diversity,enhancing their humanistic quality,and developing Chinese culture by combining Chinese and western works,it is more necessary to explore the foregoing.This paper is divided into three parts on the study of the whole book reading teaching of foreign literary works.The first chapter mainly discusses the necessity of the whole book reading teaching of foreign literary works.This paper discusses the significance of the whole book reading teaching of foreign literary works from three aspects: the provision of curriculum standards,the achievement of teaching objectives and the optimization ofteaching methods.In the second chapter,based on the questionnaire and the research of relevant scholars,the possible problems in the implementation process of the whole book reading teaching of foreign literary works are sorted out and analyzed.The possible problems include teachers and students' lack of enthusiasm for foreign literature teaching,insufficient understanding of related concepts such as the value of translation and text teaching,backward teaching methods and means,and inappropriate reading guidance and evaluation.The third chapter,combined with the challenges faced by teachers and students in the whole book reading teaching of foreign literary works,puts forward teaching strategies from the perspectives of strengthening the whole book reading concept understanding,optimizing teaching methods and methods,enhancing cross-cultural understanding,and optimizing teaching guidance and evaluation.The ultimate goal of this study is based on "the whole book reading teaching of foreign literature" problems and strategy research,summarizes the method,establishes a set of concrete "the whole book reading teaching of foreign literature" and "the whole book reading teaching system",for a glimmer of teachers and students for reference,to ensure that the whole book reading task community.
