The21stCentury is an era of knowledge economy. Cultivation and utilization efficiency oftalent have become the important factors for the evaluation of competitiveness. In order to meet therapid economic development of China, higher vocational education is now an importantcomponent of higher education. Higher vocational colleges become the main base of high-skilledtalents training. The talents enter the human resources market directly and affect the nationaleconomical development. Especially, with the trend in economic globalization, talent competitionbecomes increasingly fierce. Under the background of talent competition, improving the efficiencyof running college in higher vocational education is the fundamental guarantee of human resourcesdemand for using finite resources effectively and improving the development of national economy.In recent years, the assessment for higher vocational education becomes a focus. In fact, throughthe scientific and reasonable assessment, one can find the existing problems, which are useful fornailing down the general direction of running school, and improving the general learningenvironments. Further, the teaching staff construction can be strengthened and optimized, themanagement system can be improved and perfected, the teaching quality can be enhanced, whichcan promote the robust, harmonious and continuable development of higher vocational education.This paper mainly discusses how to evaluate the education in higher vocational colleges byusing the relative theory in fuzzy mathematics and supplies references for decisions of educationadministrators.The contents of this paper include the following three aspects:(1) The applications of fuzzy comprehensive evaluation and fuzzy analytic hierarchy processmethods in the assessment of classroom teaching quality of higher vocational colleges areconsidered. According to practical classroom teaching situation in higher vocational colleges, thispaper provides the assessment system of classroom teaching quality, and analyzes the systemqualitatively and quantitatively by using fuzzy comprehensive evaluation and fuzzy analytichierarchy process methods respectively. Further, the general steps of the assessment are provided,and the corresponding algorithms are verified to be effective by several examples.(2) The applications of interval intuitive fuzzy set in the assessment of student’scomprehensive quality are studied. Based on the detailed analysis of the goal of talents training inhigher vocational colleges, this paper constructs a assessment system of student’s comprehensivequality. Further, this paper develops a kind of quantitative assessment method of student’scomprehensive quality. Moreover, several examples are provided to show its practical applications. (3) The applications of fuzzy data envelopment analysis (DEA) in the assessment ofefficiency in higher vocational college management are investigated. This paper discusses theindex assessment system of efficiency in higher vocational college management. According to theactual data of eight higher vocational colleges in Zhejiang province, this paper shows the concreteapplications of fuzzy DEA method in the assessment of efficiency in higher vocational collegemanagement. Furthermore, this paper provides several relative strategies for improving theefficiency in higher vocational college management based on the computed results.
