With the popularization and development of Chinese teaching in middle schoolin Thailand, every year, more and more Chinese teacher are sent to Thailand forChinese teaching. Practice proves that, because of the unique feature of Chinese classand students in Thailand, traditional teaching methods are not feasible for Chineseteachers, becoming an important factor affecting the teaching efficiency. In order toincrease Thai students’ interests and enthusiasm in learning Chinese and improve theteaching efficiency and class atmosphere, this paper is designed to do a research onthe feasibility of game teaching method in elementary Chinese class in Thailand andhow to use the game teaching method as well as to propose relevant improvingmethods.This paper reviews the researches on game teaching method at home and abroadas well as the relevant research results in the field of teaching Chinese as a foreignlanguage. Combined with related theories in the field of psychology, teaching Chineseas a foreign language and game teaching, this paper mainly adopts document analysis,theoretical research, inductive method, interviewing method, class observation andlearning, case analysis and other research methods, describes the unique features ofChinese class and students in Pibool Upphatham School in Bangkok, and also does aresearch on the feasibility of game teaching method in the elementary Chinese classesin that school. This paper integrates the game teaching methods with the real teachingprocess, lists and analyzes some specific cases that the author used in the elementaryChinese classes, and discusses the feasibility and necessity of using game teachingmethod in the elementary Chinese classes and how to use the game teaching methodas well as its detailed teaching methods. Through practice, the present author findsthat when using the game teaching methods in the Chinese class, teachers should firstnotice the degree and quantity of the game and do a good job in supervising so as to guarantee the success of the game, meanwhile, they should also highlight the teachingcontent, avoiding the case that the game overshadows the teaching content.This paper is designed to provide the first hand information and materials tothose Chinese teachers who teach Chinese as a foreign language in China, to providerelevant advice and backup to those Chinese teachers in Thailand and to providedifferent teaching materials to the teachers who teach Chinese in other countries, so asto promote the application of game teaching method in the Chinese class in Thailandand other countries.
