In recent years, because of the "Mandarin fever", the oversea Confucius institutes have sprung up vigorously. And South Korea as the country which located across the sea of China has already become the leader of this "Mandarin fever movement". In South Korea, the education about Chinese are not only confined in the Confucius institute, but also as the Required Courses in the institution of higher education. In2005, the Korean government put forward the educational policy that set the Chinese course in elementary school (primary school), and has already popularize Chinese language course in elementary school until the beginning of2007, which makes Chinese education has entered a new stage of development in South Korea.However, with the time limitation of Chinese education in primary school of South Korea, the developments of other aspects are not mature and still have a lot of space to develop and enrich. The author has been sent to the Wise elementary school and St elementary school in Seosan City of South Chungcheong Province as the Chinese volunteer teacher for17months. This thesis intends to through the investigation and interview to aim at knowing the Chinese education of South Chungcheong Province and any other schools, finding the problems and try to solve them by offering author’s own advices.The research mainly divided into three parts:the first part is to get the whole circumstances of the Chinese education in elementary school of South Chungcheong Province through the local Educational Department; the second part is to understand the specific conditions of from13Chinese teachers of their schools respectively; the last part is to ask some students about their feelings of learning Chinese, the difficulties they have ever meet and any other learning requirements.The investigation is mainly completed by doing questionnaires and interviews, then summed up all the educational problems of South Chungcheong Province after the statistical induction, and combining the practical problems and author’s own experiences to advances some suggestions. The author hopes to have some contributions to the development of Chinese education in the elementary school of South Korea.
