This research takes primary school head teachers’sense of accomplishment as the theme. The purpose of the research is to discuss the characteristics and the influencing factors of the head teacher’sense of accomplishment.This research tries to enrich the studies of the sense of accomplishment, and raise the social concern to primary school head teachers.The interviewing method was chosen from the qualitative research, in order to get the interpretive understanding of the primary school head teachers’internal experience. Based on the method of purposive sample, intensive sampling and snowball sampling were also adopted as the specific methods.8primary school head teachers who are from the city of Changzhou were chosen as the objects of the research. Semi-structured interviews were conducted on these objects twice, and about60minutes each time. With the permission of every interviewee, a recording facility was used in every interview. After finishing the interviews, all recordings were transformed into texts which were processed by open coding and constant comparative method. Combined with the method of category analysis and situational analysis, the source material was extracted. Additionally, informed consents were signed before interviews.Ethical and moral principles were followed strictly throughout the whole research.The main conclusions of the research are as follows:(1)Based on the previous definitions of the sense of accomplishment, and combined with the results of his research, the basic characteristics of primary school head teachers’sense of accomplishment are as follows:the primary school head teachers achieve success in the premise of effort, and get a positive emotional experience along with improved self-evaluation as a result. At the same time, compared with other social roles, the course teachers and the middle school head teachers, the sources of primary school head teachers’sense of accomplishment are more complex. The primary school head teachers’sense of accomplishment derives more from the spirit return rather than material rewards, derives more from students’ mental growth rather than their achievements and derives the focus on various levels of their career.(2)Primary school head teachers’sense of accomplishment is a complex psychological process of the interaction between individual and environment, which influenced by objective factors, subjective factors and social relationship. In objective ways:Primary school head teachers measure the giving and the receiving during work. Primary school head teachers are faced with a lot of pressure in the work environment. The way that primary school head teachers treat their work content matters. In subjective ways:Primary school head teacher get the sense of accomplishment with different methods of social comparison. In the way of social relationship:Primary school head teachers get the sense of accomplishment through the interaction with different social groups.
