<Thunderstorm> is the representative work of Cao Yu, who is the master of drama, enjoys a unique position of drama masterpiece in the history of Chinese contemporary literature. At the beginning, its birth had not caused a stir. With the difficult history of misreading and justifying, its reputation had gradually grown, finally became a shining pearl in the history of theater.<Thunderstorm> was first placed in a high school language teaching material in1979, plays the role of the most important drama reveals. Whether based on the analysis of the teaching reference books or journal articles,<Thunderstorm>’s teaching study went through a similar process with its literature appreciation. This paper focuses on the historical development of literature appreciation and teaching study, through lengthways carding the relation of literature appreciation and teaching study, trying to analyze the effect of literature appreciation in the construction of teaching study. At the same time, according to current teaching situation of<Thunderstorm>, I put forward compiling strategy and teaching design, making it better came into high school.This thesis is divided into four parts. The first chapter discusses on the literature and teaching value of<Thunderstorm>, revealing its abundant aesthetic function and artistic connotation. The second chapter discusses on the literature and teaching interpretation of<Thunderstorm> in new period (1979-2000), lists the important literature research, analyzes the text material and reference book and experts’lessons, reveals the history status of political superior to literature in the special period of the recovery, resulting in the fact that teaching study lagging behind the pace of literature appreciation. The third chapter discusses on the literature and teaching interpretation of<Thunderstorm> in new century (2001-present), lists the important literature research, analyzes the text material and reference book of three typical versions (PEP edition, Jiangsu edition, China Normal University edition), picking experts’ lessons, reveals the diversified research of<Thunderstorm> in the new century "cultural prosperity" environment and the openness of teaching interpretation. The fourth chapter points out the text defect of<Thunderstorm> in the current teaching material, attempts to put forward the compiling strategy, and discusses the normal problems which should be paid attention to during the teaching, finally makes a teaching design.
