Teachers’ in-service training is currently one of the more popular areas of specializationsubjects. In-service training of teachers provides a platform for teachers’ professionaldevelopment that can effectively improve the professional level of teachers. Centralizedtraining is one of the most important in-service training of teachers training mode. Focus onthe current situation of teachers’ centralized training of in-service. It can put forward thecorresponding educational suggestions, which is important practical significance to promoteteachers’ professional development to teachers of mentally retarded children school,education authorities and training organizations department.This research used the combined research methods of questionnaire survey and interviewsurvey, and used teachers of mentally retarded children school centralized training ofin-service current situation questionnaire to research the current situation of230teachers oftaking parting in “National Teacher Training Program” and “Province Teacher TrainingProgram” and” Program of One City”. On the basis of the summary of related study aboutspecial educational in service training, we investigated the four areas such as trainingawareness, training content, training effect, training needs.Detailed investigated teachers’performance of different backgrounds, different regions and different seniority. Drawing thefollowing conclusions:1. For in-service training of teachers, a strong willingness to participate in the training,and there is higher training evaluation; rich content, but emphasis on theoretical knowledge.2. Mentally retarded teachers’ in-service centralized training’ social interaction worksbest; skills, knowledge have highest demand; teachers need to practice knowledge and hopefor training during working hours.3.Non-special education teachers and having10-20-year of teaching experience teachertraining awareness best; Non-special education teachers,over20years of teaching experienceteachers, county, district, township of teachers training effect best; Non-special educationteachers have a strong need of training needs.According to the research findings, put forward the following proposals regarding:1. Enhance literacy and teachers’ enthusiasm to participate in the training;2. Active researching and optimizing in-service centralized training curriculum;3. Efforts to explore the classification training mode;4. Build evaluation mechanisms of in-service centralized training;5. Strengthen the supervision and management of in-service centralized training.
