Putting forward along with the new geography curriculum reform, the local geography became the geography in one of the important teaching content of basic education. Agrestic geography knowledge can help students to understand the living environment of their school district, the arouse the students’interest in participation in learning geography, and apply knowledge to real life. So it’s of great significance to master the local geography knowledge. It’s their intellectual capital and wealth and is to benefit their life. The main content of the local natural geographical knowledge refers to the students’ hometown of geographical position, climate topography hydrology and soil, vegetation and other natural geographical factors and their mutual contact; The main content of the local human geography knowledge refers to the population about students’hometown of agricultural, industrial, transportation, social economic and cultural knowledge and its distribution, etc. Local regional geographic problem refers to a certain region within the scope of the problems of geography, such as population growth too fast, land desertification, environment pollution, abnormal climate change, frequent natural disasters and the unreasonable land use, etc.Based on this, the author has carried out for her hometown (Yulin) agrestic geography research. First of all, according to the development education in geography curriculum standard requirements for the content of the local geography and the relevant local teaching materials Such as YulinMagazineetc, sort out the basic geography education course in middle school students should master the basis of local geographical knowledge, combining with the actual situation of Yulin Region, develop the Yulin Middle School students agrestic geography knowledge questionnaire, and carry on test revision. And then through the self-made questionnaire, adopts the method of random sampling, extraction of Yulin Middle School320high school students as the research object, the main content of the investigation have students grasping situation of agrestic geography knowledge and the understanding of the local geography.
