Art is an important part of human culture, all aspects of the social life and art arelinked. The art of social function, cognitive function, educational function and aesthetic function in human cultural life, play the role is ineffable. For the high schoolart appreciation course, the most important is the fine arts education function and aesthetic function. In the teaching of arts appreciation, constantly improve theirrecognition ability, aesthetic ability, to fill the "morality" and "beauty" in the field, thus to promote students’ all-round development.This paper, in the part of introduction, the system described in art appreciation course, aesthetic concept, summarizes and analyzes the research background, the current research situation, and research methods.The second chapter, mainly discusses the high school art appreciation course, which plays in the cultivation of students’ aesthetic ability in the role of. Starting from theaesthetic psychological characteristics of high school students, the new curriculum and quality education under the guidance of the important role, art appreciation course to train students’ aesthetic ability and promoting the all-round development of students.The third chapter is the analysis of the present situation, the high school artappreciation course.
