Education should be an integrated project which is consistent and systematic. However, consider in China that the key stages are distinguished into university, high school and primary school, the consistency problem of education is a certain product. When enrollment rate is still what is pursued at present, the consistency between junior and senior high school is paid special attention to.Geography is a relatively special subject for it has been independent in junior and senior high school. The purpose for students to learn geography when they are in Junior One and Two is just for examinations, so teachers in junior high school often underline some key words or sentences in class. Without the pressure of senior high school examination, geography, which is not the key subject in junior high school, is generally paid little attention to. After the Junior Three’s break, students’knowledge on geography becomes even weaker. It is a sudden leap from zero to high standard for the students to return to geography study. Hence the students may feel rather difficult to adjust to the new teaching contents and learning methods. Lack of basic knowledge is also an obstacle to learning. One main consistence problem is that students’ knowledge on geography disconnects between junior and senior high school. Therefore, aiming at this phenomenon, this project will do some exploratory research.In the introduction, this paper states the reason for choosing this topic in detail and makes it clear what connection problem of geography teaching results in. In addition, this paper discusses the meaning of studying connection problem of geography teaching from a different angle of teachers, students, subjects and quality-oriented education. Through some investigation and analysis of connection problem of geography teaching, I will touch on the cause of this problem from three aspects.First, no cohesion in examination evaluation system is the primary cause. Second, there are some differences between junior and senior high school textbooks. Third, differences in psychological characteristics also exist. Based on these causes, there are three methods. Psychological connection is the premise. By grasping teaching difficulty, we will let students learn with interest in the harmonious relationship between teachers and students, thus making students less stressed and shortening connection period.Knowledge connection is the key point.We expect to reform and perfect the examination evaluation system to arouse attention to geography subject with the "test to promote learning".On the basis of investigating the learning situation of the students and new course standard, we will attach importance to construction of the system of subject knowledge and help students to complete the transition and connection of knowledge level. Method connection is the guarantee.We should make full use of modern teaching means to improve classroom teaching efficiency,strengthening map reading and stressing research and practice, to give students an attainable goal.Under the support of literature research method,investigation and interview method and comparison analysis method reach a preliminary approach of connection problem of geography teaching. Maybe this approach which has a one-sidedness needs to be further improved.
