" For all students to improve their basic qualities " is the basic aim of our quality-oriented education, in which students’ subjectivity and initiative should be fully respected; intellectual potential should be unlocked and healthy personality should be formed. Nevertheless, due to the restrictions of the College Entrance Examination system and mode, many schools are still blindly pursing graduation rate, which accounts for the fact that many teachers focus most of their attention on the study of Chinese, maths and English, ignoring the importance of other disciplines to cultivate students’ comprehensive quality. Meanwhile, influenced by students’ learning methods and learning quality, teachers’ different teaching methods, the family education environment as well as social environment, some students are weary of studies and have learning difficulties, which make the number of students with learning difficulties increasing. So, if we don’t take measures to solve the problem, our basic education goals will inevitably not be achieved.Through observation, analysis, home visits and questionnaire survey, I’ve conducted some research into the cause of learning difficulty students in our school and conversion strategies with the intention of improving all the students’ biological quality and making an attempt on promoting the students’ learning efficiency. The first part of my essay analyses the current situation at home and abroad, interpreting and defining the students with learning difficulty. In the second part, the causes of the formation of the biology underachievers are summarized and analyzed, such as lack of learning motivation, indifferent learning interest, a failure of willpower, wrong learning attitudes, the intense interpersonal relationship and the influence of the social environment,In the third part, I propose solutions to the problem. Through individual case study, the conversion strategies are implemented and validated and this paper offers the reference for the colleagues.This study finds that although there are many complicated factors of the problems, only if we have the proper education and teaching methods, treat each student equally and make a joint effort with the parents can the problem of learning difficulty be solved successfully.
