Recently, more attention has been paid to the physical and mental health of studentsdue to an increasing number of news reports concerning students’ crazy and destructiveactions. According to a survey about students’ mental health, approximately30%aresuffering from mental problems. Besides, the older students get, the lower their mentalhealth index becomes, with the lowest in high school, after which the mental health indexrises again in adulthood, though.While a variety of ways are available now for students to get further education,including going abroad, only a minority of students choose to go abroad while the majorityof them still have to face the college entrance examinations in China. Having beenpolished several times, the college entrance examinations allow more students to beadmitted to universities. As a result, being admitted to universities is no longer a dream torealize. Instead, it is common that people are pursuing the possibility of being admitted tokey universities, thus making parents and students, as well as schools more stressed thanever. As is reported, even though students have paid more than80%of their attention totheir studies, there still exists great demand for progress and success, which definitely has anegative influence on students’ mood. Obviously, in the long term, this will affect studentsin many aspects like academic performance, interpersonal communication, adolescentmental health and frustration ability. These effects are actually more common in famoushigh schools.Focusing more on human’s good qualities than on the disease, positive psychologyhas attracted a lot of attention and therefore has been applied in a wide range. Manyeducators have also realized this and are teaching within the frame of positive psychology,hoping that it not only reduces students’ burden but also raises their interest and helps themdevelop in a proper way so that they can meet the needs of the modern society.The study is based on the theories of reform of the teaching materials, aided with thelatest findings of positive psychology and modern physics. By studying the currentsituation of the physics teaching in senior high school, we put forward the following fourapproaches to inspire the students’ attitudes. 1. create positive experiences;2. construct positive teaching plans;3. build positive relationships;4. form positive teaching evaluation.The author thinks that positive classroom teaching of physics at high school isbeneficial to developing students’ intelligence, improving learning efficiency and cognitiveability, as well as cultivating positive personality and promoting happiness.Under the guidance of the approach to the implementation of positive psychology, theauthor proves the efficiency of the teaching strategy applied in a couple of classes andaccumulate first-hand information by means of analyzing the change of students’ learningburden, interest, satisfaction, happiness and emotional factors. It’s believed that the theoryof positive psychology surely have a brilliant future in the middle school physics teachingand that positive education will receive more and more attention. The author sincerelyhopes that the results of this study can help the application of positive psychology inphysics teaching at high schools.
