As is known to us, as the key period of students’ individuality and self-directeddevelopment, high-school education is of great significance for improving nationalquality and cultivating innovative talents. Consequently, learning independently,adapting to the society and self-reliance are particularly important when developingstudents’ ability. In addition, since Chinese education is to develop students’ motherlanguage abilities and skills, it is needed to start with high-school Chinese educationreform for molding talents, but we should know where to start with. As is mentionedin the book Winning at the Starting Point, and Losing in the End-To Reflect onFocusing on Fundamental Education, problems exist in Chinese education, includingblind faith to authority, mindset, heavy pressure, interest loss and so forth. As a result,methods should be put forward to address these issues respectively.As always, during teaching, many teachers point out that students tend toconsulting teachers, referring to reference books or other books that have standardizedanswers while coming across difficulties, not to think independently or trace the rootof problems. This thesis takes high-school students from Dawa County, Panjin,Liaoning Province as examples. With the method of literature study, questionnaire,case analysis and other research methods, this paper conducts deep investigation onstudents’ lack of query spirit, which aims to improve the situation that students lackquery spirit in high-school Chinese education for educators who are dedicated toteaching Chinese, enable students to develop soundly, enhance the quality of Chineseeducation, and provide some appropriate suggestion and advise to improve students’ability.This thesis consists of five chapters. Chapter One provides the research aims andsignificance of this study, research situations, research methods, etc. Concepts ofquery and query spirit are illustrated in Chapter Two. High-school students fromDawa County, Panjin, Liaoning Province are taken as cases to be studied in Chapter Three, and the author analyzes the root cause why students lack query spirit from theperspective of teacher and student, and conducts studies on the analysis of recessivereasons of the phenomenon. Chapter Four gives corresponding teaching advice andlearning suggestions for teacher and student respectively. Summary of this thesis andsome reflections are presented in Chapter Five.
