This paper compares the "full-time compulsory language curriculum standards(2011) of Mainland China and the" Secondary Chinese Language Curriculum Guide"of Hong Kong, and analysis two textbooks’ exercises system which published by thePeople’s education press(PEP) and Hong Kong keys press. Then comb thecommonalities and uniqueness of the design philosophy of the two exercises system.Adhering to scientific, objective and serious attitude, the exercises system of twoeditions will be summarized for four layers to analysis:"accumulating andmemorizing Type "," understanding and digesting type "," applicative and expandingtype ",and" evaluating and appreciating type ".In a result, The textbook whichpublished by the People’s education press not only pays more attention to the type ofaccumulation and memorizing but also the understanding and digesting type. On thequantity of applicative and expanding type, these textbooks are similar to each other,but on the content design are very different. In the applicative and expanding type, thePEP editions should improve. Finally, this paper advances some constructivesuggestions on the content design for the PEP editions:1. The topic of questionsshould be diversified.2. Expand the based range of exercise text.3. Grasp theopenness of applicative and expanding type to cultivate students’ ability in solvingpractical problems and their ability to learn.4. Increase the type of evaluation andappreciation. In practice use, The PEP editions should also pay more attention to thefollowing four:1Take attention on the novelty and diversity of the problems tostimulate students’ expression of desire.2. Make full use of newspaper and networkresources, and combine with the current event hot spot, to broaden the based scope ofpractice text.3. Grasp the openness of applicative and expanding type to cultivatestudents’ ability in solving practical problems and their ability to learn.4Through theevaluation of appreciation to correct students’ emotional attitude and values anddevelop their ability of thinking.This paper try to comparative study the textbooks of PEP edition and HongKong edition, then advances some constructive suggestions for the PEP edition,expect the revision in the future will be more perfect.
