PE teaching reference books of physical education materials, as one of the school sports intermediary, is the important auxiliary materials to help PE teacher to guide the school sports practice. Its quality directly affects the students’sports practice and to achieve the goals of school physical education, and it plays a vital role on the cultivation and development of students. However, under the different background, different system of physical education teachers’ book has difficult reference value.By using literature method, comparison method, statistical analysis method, interview method, Compare the mainland China and Hong Kong region of middle school physical education teaching reference books. Analysis of two edition of teaching reference books from the guiding ideology of the two books and writing basis, frame, content design, the evaluation index, illustrations, and characteristics, in order to show the mainland and Hong Kong teachers’ book their own characteristics and quality. And in the implementation of the new physical education curriculum on the basis of advanced ideas, analyzes the merits of the two version of the PE teachers’ book, more suitable for China’s national conditions and regional culture characteristics, and promote the overall quality of physical education of middle school sports teaching system. In order to help first-line teachers to understand teaching materials, grasp the teaching material, use teaching materials.From study:(1) From guiding thought and writing basis in the two version of the PE teachers’ book, both have different writing basis. The guiding ideology of both are capable of embodying the advance of the sports curriculum idea and pay attention to the development of students. In comparison, the guiding thought of People’s Education Press edition is no real meaning while Hong Kong version of the guidelines specifically, strong operability.(2) From the frame structure in the two version of the PE teachers’book, both have similarity on macro and both have written description, catalogues, body. It can be seen that they have complete and clear frame structure, covering comprehensive content.But they are difference on microscopic slightly, the edition of People’s Education Press have fixed text structure, while the Hong Kong version has no fixed body structure.(3) From the theoretical content selection in the two version of the PE teachers’ book, both have large differences. the edition of People’s Education Press is selected according to field goal. The theoretical teaching content in the edition of Hong Kong are mostly basic, common-sense content so that it has more practice.(4) From the practice content selection in the two version of the PE teachers’book, both are similar. Both selected the track and field, gymnastics, swimming, basketball, football, volleyball, dancing in common. In addition, schools are also selected the martial arts, aerobics, and selected the Hong Kong edition badminton, table tennis. Both version of the PE teachers’book times characteristic was not good enough. By comparing to the same practice content, gymnastics teaching material are better than the Hong Kong version, track and field teaching material, dance teaching materials in Hong Kong version is better than that of o’clock, basketball, football, volleyball two version have places worthy of learning. (5) From the design and arrangement of the same content in the two version of the PE teachers’book, both have large differences. The two version of the teachers’book has different logical structure, the edition of People’s Education Press is in depth subject nature, as the center of "Teaching" while the edition of Hong Kong is depth of mining materials, as the center of "Studying". (6) From the evaluation in the two version of the PE teachers’ book, the edition of People’s Education Press has relatively perfect evaluation criterion while the edition of Hong Kong has no evaluate content.(7) From the Illustration in the two version of the PE teachers’book, both are attach importance to it and using a large number of charts to help teaching. The illustrations of Hong Kong version are better than the edition of People’s Education Press from the number and type.the PE teaching reference books of People’s Education Press edition lack of space and equipment pictures.(8) From the comprehensive characteristic in the two version of the PE teachers’ book, the PE teaching reference books of People’s Education Press pay attention to subject logic while the PE teaching reference books of Hong Kong pay attention to the comprehensive material abundance. Two version of the teachers’ book has emotional values permeate, but Hong Kong edition pay more attention to the cultivation of the individual values. Both version of the PE teachers’ book multidisciplinary knowledge fusion, Hong Kong version of the integration of teachers’ book level better, more perfect design. But they are all have a common shortcomings. The PE teaching reference books of People’s Education Press are "teaching plan" reference book while The PE teaching reference books of Hong Kong are "consult" reference book.
