With the high-speed development of the Chinese economy, there is a great wave of learning Chinese around the whole world. More and more foreigners view Chinese ability as a key to getting a better job. The Chinese government has set up more than 200 Confucius Institutes which also promoted the Chinese learning. The first Confucius Institute is in South Korea, which is near our country, and almost all the high schools in South Korea have started the Chinese course. I was so lucky to be a volenteer of Chinese teacher in South Korea in September, 2012. I worked there for almost 2 years, and began to know something about the Chinese teaching in high school there.In recent years, “to make structure-fouction-culture into a whole” has been made to be a teaching principle, and a great increasing has also been made in function, meanwhile, we made a great progress. But most of the articles are qualitative theories, we do not have too many about quantitative analysis of language function. So I chose five Chinese books of high school in South Korea, and do some research about the functional items in them. I used the methods of description and comparison to analysize the data.First, I intoduced the Chinese-teaching syllabus of high school in South Korea, and compared the fouctional items with two other Chinese syllabus in China. Then, I got a new table. According to which, some analysis and statistic was made. They are:(1) the total number and the classification of the fouctional items;(2)the frequency and numbers of functional items in the five books;(3)the functional items with some grammar points, and the function-covered ability of every grammar point.According to the data I got from the statistic, I reached some conclusions about the advice of teaching Chinese and the function syllabus.
