Chinese traditional opera has been facing the increasingly severe culture shock, so the protection and inheritance of that is becoming more and more significant. Shandong clapper opera as an important part of clapper music is one of the dramas which have long history and have been speared widely. Meanwhile, this traditional folk opera is an intangible cultural heritage of China. However, Shandong clapper opera has been declined along with the development of times and the changes of popular music tastes. Aiming at this fact, Shandong government adopted measures to protect this type of opera. In 2006, Shandong clapper opera was, and then it was embodied into the second batch of national intangible cultural heritage in 2008. Currently, Tai’an clapper opera troupe is the one national professional organization in Shandong. Thus, Shandong clapper opera can be considered to be a valuable curriculum resource. To collect, sort out and develop Shandong clapper opera to school-based curriculum is a meaningful method to protect this music cultural.This paper consists of three parts: the introduction, the main text and the conclusions. The introduction explains why this topic was chosed and introduced the necessity and significance of this topic to enduce the main text. The main text includes four parts. The first part introduces the artistic form and features of Shandong clapper oper and concludes the cultural and economic value. In addition, the realistic significance of that as a school-based curriculum resource is discussed.。The second part is the theoretical conception of curriculum development and summarize the principles, objectives and content of the development. The third part analyzes the factors including external and internal factorswhich can influence the process and results of curriculum development The students and teachers were selected to be conducted a questionnaire investigation on Shandong clapper opera, and the results were analyzed in detail. Finally, it can be obtained that the develop Shandong clapper opera to school-based curriculum feasible while there are some problems need to be solved. Meanwhile, the suggestions for these problems are given in this paper.
