Since the 19th century, human society has developed at an unprecedented rate of rapid, at the same time, the economy and technology have been increasing significantly, what’s more, the development of medical and health services has led to greatly extend of expected human life, and the elderly population increased greatly, as a result, the whole world is now facing a serious challenge ---aging issues. Our country has formally become the aging society in 1999, as the economy continues to develop, the situation is worsening. As one of the major economic growth poles of our country, the Pan-Yangtze River Delta region whose degree of aging is more serious has entered an aging society ten years earlier than our country. Most importantly, its population aging process will continue to accelerate with economic society development, so it is very pressing to study its aging phenomenon. At present, the population aging research in our country mainly focused on demography, sociology, economics and other fields, less research on the regional differences. This paper analysis the spatial difference of the aging problem in the Pan-Yangtze River Delta region based on the perspective of geography. This article quantificationally analysis and study the population aging degree (absolute aging, relative aging), the aging speed (TAi (65+)), aging population bring-up ratio, and the elderly population density of Pan-Yangtze River Delta region from 2000 to 2010, mainly uses the data of "the fifth and sixth of all country’s population census", and depends on relevant mathematical statistics method based on the district level. In addition, using the Geoda software to do research into global spatial autocorrelation and local spatial autocorrelation of elderly population spatial distribution, found that the Pan-Yangtze River Delta region differs greatly in the population aging degree, and the elderly population is mass in partial region area. And to analysis the relationship of per capita GDP and aging coefficient in the Pan-Yangtze River Delta region, found that there is strong link that between its economic development level and aging degree, but there are differences that among regions. What’s more, according to the actual situation of regional development of aging, adopting the clustering analysis method to divide the Pan-Yangtze River Delta region into economically developed aging region, poor economy aging region and immigration aging, and thoroughly discusses the factors of the development of different kinds of aging region. Finally, some measures and suggestions have been provided; They can provide a reference for the Pan-Yangtze River Delta region to cope with aging problem actively and make the population development strategy.
