Research On The Process And Mechanism Of Coupling And Coordination Between Population And Economic Development In Pan-Yangtze River Delta Since 2000

Population and economy are the main indicators to measure regional differences.The change in their coupling and coordination relationship will have an important impact on regional differences.In the context of regional sustainable development,the degree of population and economy coordination has gradually become one of the core issues of regional healthy development.In recent years,the Pan-Yangtze River Delta(PYRD)region has implemented regional integration to improve the competitiveness of the region in the international market.To achieve this goal,we need to focus on improving the level of economic development and coordinating population changes.Therefore,it is particularly necessary to clarify the coupling and coordination process of population and economic development and its driving mechanism for the future integrated development and sustainable development of the PYRD region.In view of this,taking the PYRD as the research area,based on the period 2000 to 2015,this paper chooses the relevant research indicators of population and economic development,uses the coupling coordination model to explore the coupling coordination degree of population and economic development in the region,and studies the spatial-temporal pattern change of the coupling coordination degree and the evolution of spatial agglomeration characteristics by means of mathematical statistics and spatial analysis.Based on this,OLS method is used to quantitatively explore the driving mechanism that influences the spatial and temporal changes of the coupling coordination degree between population and economic development in the PYRD.According to the regional development conditions and driving mechanism,corresponding countermeasures are put forward.The study shows that,overall level,the comprehensive level of population and economic development in the PYRD region is rising,and the coupling coordination degree between population and economic development is rising.Jiangsu,Zhejiang,Anhui and the overall trend are similar,while Shanghai is on the contrary.The difference of the coupling coordination degree between population and economic development in the study area is gradually narrowing with the change of time.At the municipal level,the coupling coordination degree of population and economic development in other cities except Shanghai is on the rise,and the growth rate of each city is quite different.Because of the differences among the cities in the fringe area and between the cities in the fringe area and the core area,the coupling coordination degree of population and economic development in this area is quite different.In terms of spatial pattern,the coupling coordination type of population and economic development forms a circle structure centered on Shanghai.Most cities show a basic synchronization of population and economic development.The spatial pattern shows an "S" curve trend in the East and West and the difference is increasing,while the north and South show an "inverted U" curve trend and the difference is gradually decreasing.The spatial and temporal dynamics of the coupling coordination degree of population and economic development show a downward trend centered on Hefei,Nanjing and Shanghai.The change direction of the coupling coordination degree of population and economic development is gradually changing to a high level;and finally stabilizes at a high level.In addition,the high value and hot spot areas of the coupling coordination degree between population and economic development are mainly concentrated in the cities around the Taihu Lake basin,while the low value and cold point areas are concentrated in the northern and southern Anhui areas.This paper explores the spatial and temporal heterogeneity of the driving factors affecting the change of the coupling and coordination degree between population and economic development.On this basis,this paper puts forward the driving mechanism,which includes the infrastructure provided by the government as the guarantee force,the high-quality talents under the market as the support force and the industrial agglomeration force.Combining the regional development conditions with the driving mechanism of the coupling and coordination degree between population and economic development,this paper puts forward some optimum countermeasures,such as strengthening radiation in the core area,vigorously developing the advantages and potential areas,strengthening the industrial undertaking ability in the fringe area and the communication among the cities.
