The school-based teaching research is the basis of school education and teaching. In order to improve the quality of teaching from the reality of school, this research relies on the school’s own resources advantages and characteristics. So the junior high school-based management should make sure that the school-based teaching research is more effective and targeted, implements the goals of curriculum reform, improves teaching quality, promotes the professional development of teachers, and enhances the capacity building of the school curriculum and school level through the integration of various school-based teaching and research resources and the establishment of a sound and effective mechanism of school-based teaching research. Effective management for the school-based teaching research is of great significance.In this study, the management status of junior high school-based educational research was investigated systematically by means of questionnaires, interviews from the point of view of teaching practice. The questionnaire mainly includes seven problems existing in management such as the system, activity forms, contents, resources, examination, evaluation and achievements management of school-based teaching research. The research scope is mainly 200 teachers, 9 administrators and 5 backbone teachers in three junior high schools in Xigang District, Dalian City. The survey shows that most of the junior high school in the school-based teaching and research management has done a lot of beneficial exploration on teaching research systems, evaluation and measures. Since the curriculum reform many new changes happened in depth, certain success promoting the professional development of teachers was achieved in varying degrees. As far as the status quo of educational research is concerned, its effectiveness is not optimistic, problems still exist, for example: There are differences on management cognition between leaders and teachers, we need to continue to strengthen the learning and understanding; the school-based teaching research system should be further improved while enhancing execution; the internal demand of the self-development of teachers is not high, meanwhile a research initiative is not enough; there are phenomena of paying attention to quantity rather than quality on examination and evaluation of school-based teaching research whose guiding role should be further played; schools generally attach more importance to the development and construction of material resources than human resources and cultural resources; the content and form of activities of school-based teaching research is lack of hierarchy; the function of teaching and research group within the group is increasingly weakening, research mechanism is insufficient; lack of targeting the theme, the lack of in-depth study to solve the problem.The reason for these problems is analyzed in order to provide practical strategies for emphasizing the importance of school-based teaching and research management, strengthening mechanism construction to standardize the school-based teaching and research management system, seizing the main channel of classroom to optimize the content and the form of school-based teaching and research, and highlighting the characteristics of school-based teaching research.
