Research On The Structure Design Of Higher Vocational Colleges From The Perspective Of Contingency Theory

Higher vocational college is the main institution for the implementation of higher vocational Education, in the recent years, the development of higher vocational college change from scale expansion to connotative development., which cause colleges to improve their governance capacity via top-level design and organize structural optimization to motive the development of college and the construction of the modern vocational education system.Contingency Theory is one of the organization theories which has spread influence all over the world. Its core concept is decision of organization design is based on its circumstance. That is to say, the organization structure is determined by its circumstance mainly contains Strategy, work and technology, environment, scale and life cycle, quality of the members, which cause the organization structure differ from others, meanwhile, develop from immature to mature.Based on the analysis of the Contingency Theory, the research, which chooses Z College as an example, has been done through the various kinds of methods including interview method, case study method & literature analysis method to explore the change of structure of Z College, along with constructing the contingency mechanism. The research found that the structure of college went through five periods:Secondary vocational school period, the preparation of Higher Vocational College period; Higher Vocational Education initial period, the college anniversary period & Assessment period. During which performed different features. The process, However, have some deficiencies as "Incomplete"," No feedback", "Invalid"&"Non-systematic". The research present a contingency mechanism for Z College, based on the analysis above, conducted by the System theory, synergetic& the theory of stakeholders.
