A Study On The Application Of Mathematics In Junior Middle School

Since the middle of 21st century, with the development of computer and modern information technology, never before has mathematical application been attached more importance. In consequence, mathematical application has become the main melody for mathematical education reform internationally. The new mathematics curriculum standard Pays attention to make the student develop comprehensively, continually and harmoniously, emphasizes the student’s application consciousness. This is consistent to the goal of mathematics for all and the Problem- solving. Mathematic applied question is the typical content to manifest the application of mathematics in the middle school stage, one of the ways to understand mathematics application for the student, also one important way to cheek the applying consciousness and ability of the student at present.Then, with the new curriculum reform gradually forward, what has changed about mathematical applied questions in the teaching practice of mathematics? How to write mathematical applied questions, in order to effectively test and improve students’ mathematical application consciousness and capacity. The present study, based on elucidating the connotation, types of applied questions and the relation with mathematical modeling, adopts literature analysis, example study to analyze the mathematics assessment framework of PISA, learning psychological characteristics of students in junior middle school, and the provision about mathematics applied consciousness and ability in the new curriculum standards. Then the author makes a profound research in mathematical applied questions since the implementation of new curriculum. On the basis of the comparison between these two parts, the study finally made a summary about methods and principle on compile mathematical applied questions.
