Since the existence of class, it has been taking very important responsibility. As a basic unitof a school, class is not only a basic teaching organizational form, but also a main place forstudents to study and live in. It plays an important part in students’ healthy growth and all-rounddevelopment. How to manage a class scientifically and effectively to make it play itsprescribed role, and promote the development of students healthily, harmoniously and fully, is atopic that all the society, especially we educators are concerned about. So many teachers adoptmany kinds of approaches to managing classes, which have different effects. At present, the mostcommon and popular model of class management is quantitative management. Admittedly,because of the specific and detailed aims, easy operation processes, measurable results anduniform standards, quantitative management of class plays a vital role in improving students’achievement, promoting students’ growth, and especially in improving schools’ management.However, quantitative management of class is facing a lot of problems, such as alienation of thepurposes of management, marginalization of the status of the masters of management,materializing of managed objects, simplifying of the process of educating people, forms ofmanagement’s becoming extreme, and the results’ becoming worrying. All these issues arehaving a negative impact on the students’ healthy growth and all-around development ofstudents.The Introduction of this paper describes some major reasons of putting up with this issue,and a brief presentation of the current research status of quantization modes of classadministration.The first part describes the generation of quantitative management of classes and itsfunctions. First, I will explain how the quantitative management of class generated from thetheoretical basis and its background. After that, I will mainly focus on the functions ofquantitative management in classes.The second part is divided into problems of quantitative management in classes and analysisof these causes. Quantitative class management is being used in most schools currently, and ithas the following problems, such as alienation of the purposes of management, marginalizationof the status of the masters of management, materializing of managed objects, simplifying of theprocess of educating people, forms of management’s becoming extreme, and the results’becoming worrying. The main reasons are that the concepts have not been updated timely, themanagers do not have the necessary management quality, the system is flawed and hardware andsoftware facilities are imperfect.The third part is the practical measures to improve quantitative management of class. Tosolve this problem we could do something from the following aspects. We should establish apeople-oriented concept and cultivate awareness of democracy to clear away the ideologicalobstacles of quantitative class management. We should improve our legal awareness to providelegal support for the quantitative class management. We should improve the quality of managersto provide human resources guarantee for the quantitative class management. We should improveour school conditions to provide material security for the implementation of quantitative classmanagement.
